Join Us In Building This Legacy for the Future of Research and Innovation

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy, the UI Health Cancer Center, the Discovery Partners Institute (DPI), and the State of Illinois are partnering to construct the Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion, a new, state-of-the-art facility to house emerging areas of translational research. Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion will bring together industry partners, educational and clinical programs, and research to create the collaborative environment necessary to further drive innovative therapeutic discovery.

The Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion will be located on the UIC campus, directly behind the College of Pharmacy building at 833 S. Wood St., Chicago. It will be a five-story facility dedicated to pharmaceutical and cancer research with a focus on drug development and discovery. It will also feature a technology park, ripe for public-private partnerships, which will account for 60,000 sq. ft. of the building. Our drug discovery research will focus on important therapeutic areas including cancer, infectious disease, and women’s health.

The Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion Missions:

  1. Partnerships in Discovery – The Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion will bring industry, colleges/universities, and community groups together to develop the intellectual and physical infrastructure necessary to tackle research projects that grow their bottom line, produce timely results, and advance existing patient care options.
  2. A Workforce for Chicago’s New Economy – Support for the Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion will come from corporate partners, individuals, and organizations who want to be at the forefront of collaborative research and development. This project is expected to positively impact Illinois’ economy due to the innovation development and job creation that stimulates fiscal growth.

The goal of the Drug Discovery and Cancer Research Pavilion is to bring together academic researchers and industry partners to create the necessary collaborative environment for advances in drug discovery, development, and commercialization of drugs and pharmaceutical technologies.
